Maison Margiela - Whispers in the library Reseña / Review

Esta fragancia es la única que poseo de Maison Margiela y salío al mercado en 2019. La olí en un centro comercial de casualidad y no me la pude sacar de la cabeza hasta que me la compré (:D).

Maison Margiela tiene una colección de perfumes llamada "Réplica" y cada perfume intenta recrear una situación; club de jazz, al lado de una chimenea, mercado de flores... En este caso, el nombre significa "susurros en la biblioteca", la situación se daría en 1997 y lo que la fragancia quiere transmitir es "papel y madera encerada".

Si que es verdad que huele mucho a madera, pero es una madera dulce. La parte de madera encerada está bien conseguida pero la parte de los libros no. En mi opinión, una bibioteca antigua (que son las que tienen muchas estanterías de madera) no huele dulce. La primera biblioteca que me viene a la mente que sea así antigua es la de del Trinity College Dublin, en la que está expuesto El Libro de Kells. Muy recomandable, pero no olía como este perfume.Olía más a bien a "antiguo" una mezcla de humedad y libros viejos.

En cuanto al perfume, me imagino más la situación así: Una cocina rústica, una gran mesa de madera robusta y alguien comiendo un helado de vainilla.

This fragrance is the only one I own from Maison Margiela and it was released in 2019. I smelled it in a shopping center by chance and I couldn't get it out of my head until I finally bought it (: D).

Maison Margiela has a collection of perfumes called "Replica" and each perfume tries to recreate a situation; jazz club, by the a fireplace, flower market ... In this case, the name is "Whispers in the library", and, according to the description, the situation would occur in 1997. What the fragrance wants to convey is "paper and waxed wood" .

It is true that it smells a lot like wood, but it is a sweet wood. The waxed wood part is well achieved but the book part is not. In my opinion, an old library, with many wooden shelves, doesn't smell sweet. The first library that comes to mind that is so old is the Trinity College Dublin, where The Book of Kells is exhibited. Highly recommended, but it didn't smell like this perfume. It smelled more like "old" and a mixture of humidity and aged books.

As for the perfume, I imagine the situation more like this: A rustic kitchen, a large sturdy wooden table and someone eating a vanilla ice cream.
